DESCRIPTION:Emile Hinton is an award-winning jazz pianist and composer emerging from the heart of the London jazz scene. A mentee of renowned UK pianist Julian Joseph\, he graduated with first-class honours from Trinity Laban Conservatoire and recently spent three months at the Tribeca Jazz Institute in NYC\, studying with some of New York’s top musicians. In 2023\, Emile was honoured with the Tina May Musician’s Company Young Jazz Musician of the Year. As the pianist for jazz legends Ricky Ford (Charles Mingus\, Ellington Orchestra) and Jazz Messenger Jean Toussaint (Art Blakey\, McCoy Tyner)\, Emile has performed at top venues across the UK and Europe\, including Ronnie Scott’s\, The Jazz Café\, The Barbican and Pizza Express\, working with their ensembles and leading his own diverse projects across multiple genres. \n‘Emile is a joy to witness\, he’s a thoughtful\, conscientious and well-balanced young man and his talent certainly speaks for itself. Further contrasting pieces explore a wider variety of influences and help to create an engaging and diverse listening experience. \nOriginally from Frome in Somerset\, Charlie now studies in London at the Royal Academy of Music where he met his fellow like-minded musicians\, gradually establishing and sharing musical bonds before forming his quartet. Each player exudes joy and commitment coupled with a balance of virtuosity and individuality which clearly translates directly to the audience. Charlie already displays a pure and sophisticated trumpet sound and an expressive singing voice which makes this group a bright and welcome addition to the current London jazz scene.

She gained significant buzz when she went on a 52 show US Tour in 2023 independently with no management and no label. Her following grew by 5 times while she was on the road for 8 months on her own. Her fans funded the entire tour. KELS recently headlined the Atlanta Jazz Festival in May 2024\, opening for Andre 3000. In 2024 she headed back on another independent tour for a 25 show run in the Northeast that started in August 2024.
